Embracing Change: The Beauty of Transformation and Overcoming Gremlins

Shame is the gremlin who says, 'You’re not enough.' - Discover your inner messages

Hey there,

These past couple of weeks have been the busiest I've had in years, and it's only Wednesday!

Usually, I manage to write this newsletter during the day, but tonight, I'm just starting after 10 PM—talk about commitment. Despite the very early mornings and the late nights, I love it because this week has been non-stop, and it feels great to get a head start on the day, and beat obstacle after obstacle… even beating my alarm a few days in a row.

🧠 On My Mind:

  • Changes

  • Transformation

  • Unrealized Dreams

  • Acceptance

  • Realizing My Potential

  • Exponential Impact

There's so much I want to share, but it’s not the right time because everything has been moving so fast.

Confusing? Absolutely.

I’ve been processing the information quite slowly because my focus has been so intense these past couple of weeks. Yet, amidst this whirlwind, I find beauty in seeing challenges as opportunities.

🔍 The Why:

Let's touch base because Gremlins are always lurking. A couple of weeks ago, someone pitched a crazy idea to me. My inner gremlin, whom I call "El Criticon," was quick to voice its skepticism.

However, there was another force, like gravity, pulling me towards the "what-ifs," leading me onto a path of transformation.

Why did I take this path? I've become so aware of how these voices show up daily that I've learned to quiet El Criticon. Here’s a quick checklist of how Gremlins might show up in your life:

  • Self-doubt: Questioning your abilities in new situations.

  • Shame: Feeling inadequate and unworthy

  • Criticism: Overly judging your work and decisions.

  • Fear of Failure: Holding back from taking risks.

These voices often reflect our past pains and fears, aiming to keep us "safe" by holding us back.

But remember, this safety net is actually limiting us because we’ve grown, we’ve developed skills, and we are much stronger than we used to be..

🕰️ When to Take Notice:

"Shame is the gremlin who says, 'You’re not enough.'"

Brené Brown

Whenever you catch yourself thinking, "I'm not good enough," recognize it's not truly you—it's your Gremlin talking. This inner critic thrives on past lessons that were painful, mistakenly trying to protect you.

🏆 Transformative Moment:

To delve deeper into this concept, I recommend watching a two-minute clip from Brené Brown's TED Talk on Shame as a Gremlin. It's a powerful exploration of how these internal voices can shape our lives.
